Thanks for all the feedback on page comments. It was useful to hear how you are using comments and what features you find important. I apologize if we have missed some of your support requests to the U2U group -- we will continue to try to improve in this area.

As you may have noticed, Dave Girouard (VP of Google Enterprise) recently announced our plans to add Jotspot to the Google Apps product suite (www.google.com/a). This was a pretty easy decision. Making it simple to create team sites, Intranets, classroom sites, and other collaboration sites will be a great complement to the already strong collaboration capabilities of Google Docs & Spreadsheets, Gmail, and Google Calendar.

My question this update is ...

A quick update from the Jot team here at Google. Going forward, I'll be posting more regularly with updates and questions about Jot usage.

We were excited that Eric unveiled Google's application strategy at the recent shareholder meeting. This focus is part of why we believed Jot would be such a great fit at Google. While we would have preferred "Search, Ads, JotSpot," we can live with "Search, Ads, Apps."

Our work on the port to Google's infrastructure continues to progress. The team is burning the midnight oil to make sure Jot can handle traffic at the Google scale. We are also working hard to make sure our customers have to make a transition only once. Google, as a policy, does not ...

Happy new year! We wanted to let you know that all hosted JotSpot wikis will be upgraded to version 2.9 within the next week. Updates will happen automatically and if you already have a wiki no further action is necessary.

Version 2.9 adds several exciting features including support for Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2. In addition, 2.9 fixes some general RSS issues and offers RSS feeds for specific applications. Complete 2.9 release notes can be found here: http://help.jot.com/R2.9ReleaseNotes

We have been hard at work migrating to Google's infrastructure. Because of this, 2.9 will be the last JotSpot version produced before the migration occurs. We look forward to sharing it with you when it is complete.

If you have any questions or ...

We've always had a hard time keeping secrets, and it's been really tough to keep this one - Google has acquired JotSpot. Yep, that's right - we're all Googlers now, and we couldn't be more excited.

But let's talk about you, our users and customers. Even though we're now part of Google, you're still our first priority. That means you'll continue to have uninterrupted access to your JotSpot products. Our first area of focus at Google is the transition to their storied systems and datacenters. In order to ensure that the transition goes smoothly and without inconvenience, we've closed off new customer registrations so we can take care of you. Our support team also continues ...

As you probably know, JotSpot wikis allow you to go beyond text-only pages and collaborate with rich application pages right in your wiki. You can mix and match text and application page types as needed, from web-based spreadsheets and calendars to photo galleries and email lists. All within a familiar wiki interface.

JotSpot the Platform
This is made possible because under the hood, a JotSpot wiki is actually a web-application platform, complete with a full-power API. This API provides extra "headroom" so you can evolve your wiki into an ever more powerful collaborative environment, beyond a simple set of text pages.

At it's core, the API allows you to use forms to add structure to information in pages. Once ...

Hi, my name is Mark Wubben and I'm a summer intern here at JotSpot. Since I came here last month I've been working on an internal project named "Jotliner", which has been released today as the To-Do List application! With the app, you can (of course) create your own to-do lists. The real power, though, is in the way you edit your to-do items. And I don't mean that you can use the mouse to edit items or re-order them, I'm talking keyboard shortcuts. Tons of 'em. Quickly move items around, select items, indent, outdent, highlight. Or delete, and then undo, followed by a quick redo. Edit, create new items. Cut or copy, and paste. Check them, and move the ...

We are lucky to have Mark Wubben, in from the Netherlands, interning here at Jot for the summer. His first project is going to be finishing up an internal project with the super secret code name "Jotliner." We will release his work as a to-do list page type.

More on the project as it develops.

As you might have heard today, we released a new version of our wiki today. As part of the release we added page types, which allow you to include structured data like spreadsheets, file cabinets, calendars, and other application pages in your wiki. This is a pretty big step for us and it really opens up what you can do with a wiki.

I'm also really excited because this is our first release with our new team of interaction and interface designers (led by Mandy Sladden along with CSS gurus Adam Howell, and Joseph Wain). I think you will really notice the difference in the feel of the wiki when you use our latest version.

I've never really understood applications that ...
