JotSpot in PC Magazine

The good folks at PC Magazine wrote a profile on JotSpot customer, Dickson Allan. DA uses a JotSpot wiki to keep 100 in-the-field consultants in sync. In addition, they’re starting to use some of the application functionality of JotSpot to build mini-apps that replace Excel spreadsheets they were emailing around (how’s that for multiple clauses?). For example, Dickson Allan built an “opportunity pipeline” application that replaced a spreadsheet that consultants were constantly emailing to one another. Now they’ve got a web-based application that’s easily customizable and works exactly as they want it to. All in about an hour.

  1. Hi,

Before jotspot, I was playing arround with web based RTF editors for creating rith documents… This is so that I am not locked in propritory formats, and docs are visible from web, anc can be essentially hosted & edited from web.

I have a jotspot account for some time, and I am just getting the hang of it as I could find time to skim through the tuts recently… I primarily find jotspot excellant to mindmap information in matrix format… as a replacement fo excel. And in this capacity, it’s the best hosted app I find. Soon to embark on app creation myself!

As the tuts say, one should start using it as knowledge management wiki, and then as you would want more features, check the docs, cookbooks…

Thanks for the great tool & responsive app.
